Imagine mistaking Jets superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers for a country singer, who is 5-foot-9 and weighs 154 pounds.
That’s precisely what Stugotz of “The Dan Le Batard Show” did throughout a 20-minute interview with country singer Jake Owen.
This is despite Stugotz claiming to be a big Jets fan.
Owen seemed to be going with the joke, pretending to be Rodgers and not breaking character for the entire conversation.
“I was hugging him. I was patting him on the stomach. ‘You’re my quarterback. You’re my quarterback.’ And Jake Owen, going, ‘I am, I am,’” Stugotz explained.
“I am embarrassed. I told you, I stayed up most of the night. I kept going through parts of the conversation, and I’m like, ‘How did Jake just stay with it and not laugh at me?’”

“Identical twins, I mean Jesus,” Stugotz said, recapping his mistake.
The mistake is even funnier when you realize that Rodgers has at least a couple of inches and 70 pounds on the country music singer.
“Thank god, ’cause I want my quarterback to be bigger,” Stugotz said.
“You came up talking about how incredibly good he looked,” another member of the group said while laughing.

To be fair, the country singer does look like Rodgers, especially with the gray in his beard and his hairstyle while wearing a hat.
Rodgers has joked about lookalikes many times in his career, notably in a commercial with State Farm, where he said he “hates practicing,” so he hired a body double to get in there for him.
Rodgers also pretended not to be himself in a joke of him pretending to be an employee at a gym called Chuze Fitness.
“Are you Aaron Rodgers?” a girl asked while at the gym.
“I get that a lot but no I’m not,” Rodgers said. “Would I be working here if I was him? That guy makes like a gazillion dollars. He’s kind of a punk too, though I heard.”
“He’s like really, really hot,” the unnamed girl tells Rodgers.
“That’s your opinion,” Rodgers responds holding back laughter.
It would appear he’s got another true body double in this country music singer.
Owens is relatively big in the country music space; he has 6.3 million monthly listeners according to Spotify, with “Down to the Honkytonk” accruing 45 million views on YouTube.
Rodgers, meanwhile, has been very active around New York City, traveling around and attending multiple shows in the area.
He is set to report to training camp on July 19 when the “Hard Knocks” cameras will be on him as the Jets get the featured slot by HBO and the NFL.
