LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – One person is dead and 4 others were hospitalized after a Sunday night apartment fire in the southeast valley, fire officials say.
Around 7:36 p.m., Clark County Fire Department responded to an apartment complex engulfed in flames within the 3900 block of Spencer Street.
Arriving crews requested additional teams to the scene, bringing the total responding units to 10 engines, two ladder trucks, two rescues, one squad, one air resource unit, one EMS coordinator, three battalion chiefs and three investigators.
Four people were transported to nearby hospitals for burns, and other injuries, sustained during self-evacuation. On Monday. fire officials reported that one additional person had died from their injuries.
No responders were injured during the fire.
Currently, CCFD is reporting that 16 people have been displaced in the fire, and the American Red Cross is assisting 19 people.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
