1 hospitalized after shooting near Las Vegas Strip

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – One person is hospitalized after a shooting northeast of the Las Vegas Strip Tuesday, police say.

Las Vegas Metro Police said the shooting happened at 11:41 a.m. in the 2500 block of Sherwood Drive, near Sahara Avenue and South Las Vegas Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they found one person with a gunshot wound. They would be taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said one person has been detained in connection to the shooting.

An investigation is ongoing.
