
LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Police say an 11-year-old girl was hit and killed near the Historic Westside Monday evening.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened after 5 p.m. near Lake Mead Boulevard, west of Concord Street.
Police said a driver traveled westbound on Lake Mead when the 11-year-old ran northbound outside a crosswalk and was hit by the sedan. Police say the driver did try to brake and swerve to avoid her.
Police said the girl died at the scene. The driver remained on scene and did not show signs of impairment.
Lake Mead Boulevard was closed in both directions between Martin Luther King Boulevard and J Street, but has since reopened.
The pedestrian’s death marked the 141st traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2025. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
