LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 15-year-old has been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting that killed his father over the weekend, police say.
Las Vegas Metro officers responded to reports of the shooting at 8:41 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28 in the 6600 block of Tampa Court. Inside the home, officers located a man suffering from gunshot wounds, who would later die at the scene.
Officers also learned that the suspect fled the scene but was later located and arrested in the 5500 block of Balzar Avenue.
An initial investigation revealed that the suspect was the 15-year-old son of the victim. The teen is believed to have grabbed a firearm and shot his father during an argument among family members.
He is currently facing an open murder charge and was booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
