LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 17-year-old is in critical condition on Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a car in the southwest valley.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to Quarterhorse Lane and Mountains Edge Parkway around 12:38 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene located the injured teen and transported him to UMC Trauma, where he is currently in critical condition.

Police say the vehicle remained at the scene, and impairment is not suspected at this time. The 17-year-old juvenile’s injuries have been deemed non-life-threatening, according to a Clark County spokesperson.

The public is advised to avoid the area while CCSDPD conducts an investigation.
