LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – On Wednesday at around 4 p.m., North Las Vegas Police Department officers responded to North Vista Hospital after an 18-year-old male arrived at the hospital suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
That male was later taken to University Medical Center for treatment. As officers investigated the shooting, a 16-year-old male arrived at UMC suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. His injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening.
NLVPD detectives were notified and took over the investigation. Investigators believed that both victims were related to the same shooting investigation that had originally occurred in the area of Wilkinson Way and Dillon Avenue.
Detectives believe it was an “isolated incident,” according to a report from NLVPD.
During the investigation, detectives were notified that the 18-year-old male had succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was pronounced dead. The identification of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
