LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A new down payment assistance program to help hundreds of Nevadans buy a home will be available starting next month.

The Worker Advantage Program is part of the Governor’s Housing Access and Attainability Act. It was passed during the last legislative session.

Under the program, borrowers can apply for $20,000 to use toward down payment assistance or to buy down interest rates.

The goal is to help 900 Nevadans who are employed as essential workers in health care, education, public safety, or construction fields. The first-come, first-served program will be available until the allocated $18 million in funding has been used.

For those interested in the program, contact a local mortgage broker.
