LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police say two people were killed in a crash involving a wrong-way driver near Boulder City Saturday afternoon.

The US95 / I-11 interchange exit ramp to go southbound on I-11 will be closed for several hours, due to a fatal crash investigation, according to Nevada State Police.

Nevada State Police Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 2:20 p.m. on I-11 and Mile marker 6, southbound, about 8 miles from Boulder City.

The head-on crash involved a wrong-way driver, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and will be booked on suspicion of impairment.

One man and one woman in the other car were pronounced dead at scene.

The wrong-way driver also had two minors in the car that were also taken to the hospital for precautionary measures.

Police are asking drivers to avoid area and use alternate routes.
