SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Nev. (KOLO) – Two people were killed in a plane crash near South Lake Tahoe on Thursday.
Around 1:00 a.m. Thursday, deputies with the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office received notice of an overdue aircraft. The plane’s GPS transponder was plotting in the area of Willow Creek near Luther Pass.
Deputies responded and found a crashed single engine aircraft adjacent to Willow Creek Road. The aircraft’s two occupants were pronounced dead on scene.
Identification of the two decedents is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The investigation is ongoing.
