LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Another fire at Paradise Spas condos on Las Vegas Boulevard and Silverado Ranch marks the third fire in three months — two of those deadly.

“There’s no rhyme or reason to the fires here,” said Paradise Spa Homeowners Association president Dennis Snapp. Nine units were damaged or destroyed in the fire Saturday morning, and 29 people were displaced.

The Red Cross of Southern Nevada is coordinating with the property management, which plans to have units available for the displaced residents by Monday.

Officials have not confirmed the cause of the fire, but Snapp says it started inside a unit. “We had a tenant who lived in a unit in Building 12 who had a medical emergency, and his actions created the fire within his unit.”

There were two different fires in this same complex in November and December, each claiming a life.

“How many fires have we had here in the last two months? Too many. People have died in a couple of these,” said tenant Mark Hoffman back in November.

In 2024, the Clark County Fire Department responded to fire calls at the Paradise Spa condo complex at least 10 times.

“We have a range of causes of the fires,” said Snapp. “There is no concerted effort to burn the buildings here. It certainly wouldn’t serve any of our efforts.”

Snapp said many of the units are already empty in the complex, since the property has been sold and the buildings will eventually be torn down, although officials don’t expect that to happen until later this year.
