LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Las Vegas Metro police have arrested multiple people connected to a human trafficking and money laundering investigation led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

LVMPD reports that the investigation began in 2003, which led officials to discover several central valley businesses operating as massage parlor brothels, but would also conduct illegal activity.

According to police, the businesses would solicit sex acts from customers. The accused businesses of these criminal acts include Midnight Rose Spa, Jones Station Karaoke and Bar, and Young Spa.

“Human trafficking remains a priority for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). With the assistance of our federal partners, we are committed to protecting those vulnerable individuals who are victims of human trafficking and bringing to justice those who commit these crimes,” said Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Sheriff Kevin McMahill.

Three Chinese nationals and one South Korean national were arrested in connection with the illegal operation, according to Metro. Hua Xiao, 35, Cheng Cheng Li, 41, and Jianming Li, 53, from China, and Jisup Hwang, 27, from South Korea, all face several felony charges.

“Today’s arrests should serve as a stark reminder that criminal activity motivated by greed incurs significant consequences. This takedown underscores the necessity for a sustained law enforcement effort across all levels to dismantle and thoroughly investigate the organized criminal enterprises behind these illegal operations, profiting from illicit prostitution. The FBI remains steadfast in its commitment to collaborating with our law enforcement partners to combat violent crime, thereby ensuring the continued safety and security of our community,” said FBI Special Agent in Charge Christopher S. Delzotto.

The 4 people will face wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and traveling internationally or across state lines to use a business for unlawful activity related to racketeering enterprise.
