LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A 59-year-old pedestrian is dead after a crash in west Las Vegas, police say.

Officials with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said the crash happened early Sunday morning at Flamingo Road and Decatur Boulevard. Police say evidence suggests that the pedestrian was crossing outside of a crosswalk when the driver of a Ford F150 hit him.

Police say the driver, identified as Jacob Huber, did not stop at the scene. He and his truck were later found. Police said they arrested him for hit-and-run charges.

Medical responded and said the pedestrian died at the scene. Huber is scheduled to make an initial appearance in court Tuesday.

The pedestrian’s death marks the 153rd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2025. This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.
