LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 60-year-old man died after being hit by a car near Harry Reid Airport Monday night.
Police said the crash happened near Harmon and Paradise Road around 7:48 p.m.
Evidence at the scene showed the 60-year-old was crossing Paradise Road south of Naples Drive outside an implied crosswalk. At the same moment, the driver of a 2023 Buick Envision drove southbound on Paradise Road in the left of five travel lanes.
Police said the Buick struck the pedestrian. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital but despite medical intervention, he died.
The driver of the Buick, a 67-year-old man, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
“The pedestrian’s death marks the 2nd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2025,” police said. “This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
