LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — A local affordable housing replacement is making Thanksgiving a little brighter for its residents.
Nevada HAND is collaborating with the Las Vegas chapter of 100 Black Men of America to bring meals to low-income residents. 6,000 meals were handed out by the 100 Black Men volunteers.
Officials with Nevada HAND explain why this distribution is so important.
“It’s important. It’s Thanksgiving. It’s the holiday time. And having nice prepared meals right at your doorstep is very important to us. Food insecurity has been a concern for every organization throughout the valley. And we’re just putting a dent in that today here, providing hot prepared meals for our residents,” said Brittani Gray, Nevada HAND vice president of resident services.
This is the third year of collaboration between Nevada HAND and the 100 Black Men local chapter.
