LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 70-year-old man died after a fire in west Las Vegas Friday night.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to an emergency call at 6336 Shawnee Avenue, a single-story home.

Crews arrived within three minutes of assignment.

It was reported that one person, a 70-year-old man, and two cats were in the home. Crews searched the home and rescued one person. Crews began offensive strategy and an all-clear was given at 10:57 p.m.

LVFR said the man suffered burns on multiple areas of his body and was transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition.

The city said he died Monday.

The American Red Cross was called to support four adults. The home required board-up services for one door and a garage door.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation. Officials estimate the damage around $50,000.
