LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A 78-year-old died at the hospital after a North Las Vegas crash Tuesday morning.
The North Las Vegas Police Department said the crash happened at North Commerce Street and West Craig Road. It involved an Infiniti SUV and Chevrolet pickup truck.
Police said the driver of the SUV, a 58-year-old, drove westbound on Craig when it did not stop at a red light. The SUV struck the front of the truck, a 45-year-old who was making a left turn to head north on Commerce Street.
Police said the 78-year-old was a passenger in the SUV. They were going in-and-out of consciousness and later died at UMC Trauma Center.
The driver of the Infini was taken to UMC with injuries not life threatening. The pickup truck driver later transported himself to a nearby hospital, but also had injuries not life-threatening.
The identification of the deceased, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor, police say.
