LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An 80-year-old man died days after a crash on Sunday, Las Vegas police say.

The crash happened at 8:55 p.m. at Desert Inn and Arville. Las Vegas Metro Police said the 80-year-old drove a Mercedes. The other driver involved was a 51-year-old woman who drove a Nissan Rogue.

Police say the woman drove westbound on Desert Inn with a green light. The 80-year-old drove eastbound on Desert Inn Road in the left turn lane with a flashing yellow.

A crash happened when the man did not yield for the Nissan. Police say the right front of the Mercedes struck the left side of the Nissan.

Medical arrived and transported the driver of the Mercedes to UMC Trauma. The driver of the Nissan showed no signs of impairment and was not hospitalized.

On April 10, the Clark County coroner notified police of the man’s death.

“This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section,” police say. “The driver’s death marks the 52nd traffic-related death in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Jurisdiction for the year 2025.”
