LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An 82-year-old man has died more than two weeks after being injured in a three-car crash in the west valley.

On Feb. 10, Las Vegas Metro Police responded to a crash on Sahara Avenue and Lindell Road around 2:17 p.m. An initial investigation determined that a Chevrolet Malibu traveling west on Sahara, approaching a red light at the intersection, while a Hyundai Elantra was headed north on Lindell and a Ram pickup was stopped facing south on a flashing yellow arrow in the left turn lane.

Police say the Chevrolet ran the red light and collided with the right side of the Hyundai, which drove the Hyundai into the stopped Ram pickup and a light pole.

The Chevrolet and Hyundai drivers were both taken to UMC Trauma for suspected minor injuries after the crash. However, police would later learn that the 82-year-old Hyundai driver would die from his injuries.

His death marks the 33rd traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2025, according to a release.
