LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An 84-year-old woman died in a crash late Christmas night in west Las Vegas, police say.
The crash happened near Buffalo Drive and Spring Mountain Road around 11:09 p.m.
Investigation by police revealed that a 46-year-old man drove east on Spring Mountain approaching Spring Shower Drive in a Camry.
At the same moment, the 84-year-old woman was crossing south on west Spring Mountain, west of Spring Shower Drive outside a crosswalk.
The Camry hit the pedestrian. Medical arrived and despite life-saving measures, she died at the scene.
The Driver of the Camry showed no signs of impairment and voluntarily performing sobriety tests.
“The pedestrian’s death marked the 156th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for the year 2024,” police said. “This collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s Collision Investigation Section.”
