LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Police arrested a Clark County School District employee on charges for possessing a firearm on school property.

CCSD Police said 52-year-old Jynnell McClellan was arrested Monday and was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

The investigation happened at Legacy High School when a firearm was located in the school’s parking lot. Police said there were no threats to the school or students.

McClellan was a substitute assigned to the high school. She has been employed in the district since 2015.

The district says she’s been removed from the substitute pool and is no longer eligible to substitute in the district.

The district wants to remind the community that it’s a illegal to possess a firearm on any CCSD property, even if someone has a valid concealed carry permit.
