LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A pedestrian is fighting for his life Monday morning after an overnight crash north of the Las Vegas Strip.
The crash occurred around 12:32 a.m. on Industrial Road and West Wyoming Avenue, according to police. Officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department determined that a 2021 Toyota Camry was traveling north on Industrial Road, approaching Wyoming Avenue, while a pedestrian was crossing the road.
The pedestrian entered the Toyota’s travel path in the crosswalk, against the signal, and was struck and redirected into the roadway.
The Toyota came to a controlled stop and remained at the scene.
The pedestrian was immediately transported by emergency medical personnel to UMC, where he is receiving treatment for life-threatening injuries.
Police say impairment is not suspected at this time, though an investigation is ongoing.
