LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County officials confirmed that the apartments where two people died in a July 28 fire did not have sprinklers, and were not required to.

Property records show the Riverbend Apartment, located at 3937 Spencer Street, were built in 1978 so they wouldn’t be required to have sprinklers.

Two people were killed and four were injured when flames swept several units at the complex on Spencer Street near Flamingo.

Fire crews say 19 people were also displaced.
