LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A wheelchair user who was shot in North Las Vegas last week, has died.

North Las Vegas police transported the man to UMC after finding him in the 1700 block of Yale Street on Wednesday, Sept. 11. On Friday, police were notified that the man had died from his injuries.

Following the shooting, NLVPD took a suspect, identified as 45-year-old Willie Brown Jr., into custody.

Police say Brown shot the man in a wheelchair, then fled the scene and attempted to shoot another person, but missed. He is currently facing two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm as a convict, and other charges.

Brown will be rebooked on open murder charges.
