LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Congresswoman Dina Titus applauds the Federal Trade Commission’s efforts to crack down against Invitation Homes.

According to reports, the rental company Invitation Homes has settled a lawsuit to refund consumers $48 million for the harm their actions have caused renters nationwide.

The report said Invitation Homes deceived renters about lease costs and undisclosed junk fee charges and allowed renters to move in without adequate inspection.

Renters then reportedly did not return tenants’ security deposit after they had moved out.

The FTC said that moving forward, corporate landlords must disclose leasing prices, set clear procedures regarding security deposit refunds, and stop all unlawful behavior.
