LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Henderson Police Department says a 75-year-old died after crashing into a large boulder Friday night.

Police said the crash happened around 8:22 p.m. in the area of Stufflebeam Avenue and Galleria Drive.

HPD said the 75-year-old drove a 2007 Toyota Tundra eastbound on Stufflebeam at a greater speed than posted. She crashed into a large boulder when the road curved.

Medical transported her to Sunrise Trauma Hospital where she died.

Traffic was closed in the eastbound lanes for about three hours while police investigated.

“As this is still an active and open investigation, no further details will be provided at this time,” police said. “The name of the decedent will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office after next of kin notifications.”

The collision is being investigated as the seventeenth accident-related fatality for 2024.
