LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Thursday, the Nevada State Railroad Museum is celebrating its first train ride from Boulder City to Henderson since the Hoover Dam was completed.
In 2018, the first phase of the I-11 was completed along with the restoration of a railroad line at Railroad Pass.
This allowed the possibility of train service between Boulder City and Henderson.
The museum says starting Thursday, museum train rides will now take visitors on a round-trip journey from Boulder City to Paradise Hills in Henderson.
The first train is expected to depart at 5:30 p.m.
Train riders could expect an overlook of the Las Vegas Valley and the Strip.
Extension of the museum’s train rides were made possible with the help of the State of Nevada, City of Henderson, City of Boulder City, Clark County, and the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce.
In 2026, the Nevada State Railroad Museum will open its new 9,000 square foot visitor’s center which will include a new passenger loading platform, museum exhibits, classroom space, and an archival research room.
