LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas resident and a firefighter were hospitalized Friday morning after a west valley house caught fire.

Las Vegas Fire and Rescue responded to the fire around 6:26 a.m. in the 7200 block of Roe Court. Arriving crews found the two-story home fully engulfed in flames.

After receiving conflicting information about residents inside the home, firefighters searched the property to ensure everyone was out. Once cleared, firefighters focused on extinguishing the fire for over 20 minutes, according to LVFR.

One resident and one firefighter were taken to UMC as a precaution.

The American Red Cross was also called to the scene to help two displaced residents and two pets.

Firefighters say the scene is still active, and an investigation is underway.
