LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – FOX5 obtained video showing a worker find nine puppies inside a Las Vegas dumpster.

These are clips you’ll see only on FOX5.

Thursday, The Animal Foundation said they are taking care of eight puppies that were found in a dumpster inside a trash bag.

The Las Vegas shelter says that a Good Samaritan rescued the puppies and that they are safe at the shelter.

Sadly, one of the puppies had to be euthanized because of blood their chest. The puppies were found with a cleaning product inside the trash bag.

The foundation says they are working to find the effects of the product on the puppies.

“These are tiny, vulnerable puppies who barely have their eyes open, and someone chose to throw them away like trash,” The Animal Foundation said. “Thanks to the hero who heard their cries, they’re now getting a fresh start. Due to their young age, the puppies are highly susceptible to illness. Ideally, they will move into a foster home to give them the best chance at thriving outside the shelter environment.”

The shelter says the person accused of dumping the dogs is in custody. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed the suspect is Michael Grindrod.

The City of Las Vegas Animal Protective Services says that they responded to a call on Nov. 5 that a tenant was getting evicted and was putting puppies in a dumpster in teh 5800 block of West Charleston near Jones.

The city said a maintenance worker was at the scene.

“Upon arrival the officer made contact with front office/management staff who had five puppies,” the city said. “They found the puppies in the dumpster. The maintenance worker and a leasing agent at the property reported that a tenant evicted earlier in the day had a dog with newborn puppies.”

The city officer contacted LVMPD who would make contact with the tenant.

The clips after the video at the dumpster are the puppies before they were dumped. FOX5 is continuing to work with the woman who submitted the videos.
