LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Robert Telles, the former Clark County official convicted of killing a Las Vegas journalist, has filed an appeal.

Appeal letter penned by convicted killer Robert Telles dated November 11, 2024(Clark County Courts)

In October, a jury found Robert Telles guilty on all counts and sentenced him to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 28 years. Telles was accused of stabbing Las Vegas Review-Journal reporter Jeff German to death outside his home in August 2022.

Following his sentencing, Telles‘ attorney Robert Draskovich withdrew from the case. He informed FOX5 that the public defender’s office would be taking over the case and handling any attempts to appeal.

“The family has my deepest condolences,” Telles said during the hearing. “Mr. German was very impactful in the community… He made a difference.”

At time of writing, a hearing has not been scheduled.
