LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo ordered all state offices in Northern Nevada closed early Thursday morning due to bad weather.
Lombardo ordered the closures after warnings from the Departments of Transportation and Public Safety about hazardous road conditions.
The closure will extend to all state executive branch offices. It will not affect those deemed essential workers, like public safety and corrections employees.
Offices in the following counties will be shuttered:
- Carson City
- Churchill
- Douglas
- Lyon
- Mineral
- Persing
- Storey
- Washoe
The Governor’s office will continue to monitor conditions and then decide whether these offices will remain closed Friday as well. In the interim, Governor Lombardo urges Nevadans to drive cautiously and follow NDOT and DPS guidance.
