LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The City of Las Vegas is offering lead-hazard checks and fixes for older homes in the valley.
This is an effort to make sue families are living in a safer environment. The city received a four-year grant by the Office of Lead Hazard Control and Health Homes to help develop affordable ways to reduce lead-based paint risks.
Homeowners must qualify and be located within city limits.
The property must have been built before 1978, there must be a child under 6 years old in the household or visiting regularly and the household must meet HUD income requirements.
The program is free.
