LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Nevada State Police has arrested a juvenile in connection to a deadly DUI crash in Las Vegas.

According to NSP on Jan. 15 LVMPD requested the Nevada Highway Patrol Traffic Homicide Units’ assistance to investigate a fatal crash that happened near Lamb Boulevard and Stewart Avenue.

A Chrysler 300 fled from a traffic stop moments before the crash.

Officials reported a juvenile driver in the car was speeding northbound on Lamb Boulevard. The juvenile driver sideswiped one vehicle and then crashed into a Chevrolet Tahoe.

Following the collision the juvenile driving the Chrysler slid into the sidewalk striking a bicyclist. The bicyclist then hit a brick wall.

Police say the driver in the car that was sideswiped was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The juvenile and driver of the Chevrolet were treated on the scene with minor injuries.

The bicyclist identified as 41-year-old Luis Sanchez Ochoa. The adult male from Las Vegas died on the scene according to police.

Following an investigation NSP determined the juvenile was impaired.

Officials report the juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and faces multiple charges related to reckless driving under the influence.

NSP is reminding the community to plan ahead to ensure you have a designated sober driver to travel safely on Nevada roadways.

The incident marks the fifth fatal crash and death in 2025 so far that NSP has investigated.
