LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Following the death of a North Las Vegas police officer agencies across the valley have expressed their condolences.
On Tuesday afternoon near Lone Mountain and Camino Al Norte officers responded to reports of a person with a handgun. There was an exchange in gunfire. An officer and the suspect died due to their injuries.
Las Vegas Metro Police Department K9 unit expressed a heartfelt message to the family of the fallen officer on Instagram.
LVMPD shared on X, the department is mourning one of their own.
We stand with our brothers and sisters at the North Las Vegas Police Department as they mourn the heartbreaking loss of one of their own. Earlier today, this brave officer made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting the community.

The North Las Vegas Fire Department expressed their condolences to social media and addressed this “unimaginably difficult time,” for the department.
Las Vegas Metro Police Wives shared a statement with FOX5 who says they are in contact with the officers family and agency as they are prepared to provide support during this heartbreaking time.
