LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The City of Henderson has a somewhat troubled history with its police chiefs. Former Chief Hollie Chadwick is the fourth top cop to leave the city under a cloud.
The City first encountered problems in 2017 with former Chief Patrick Moer. He served more than 25 years with the Henderson Police Department before his promotion, but Henderson replaced Moer amid allegations of improper fundraising. The report from an internal investigation also detailed incidents of sexual harassment.
Moer denied all charges and sued the city.
The city replaced Moer with LaTesha Watson, who came to the Valley from Arlington, Texas. Watson was the first Black woman to serve as Henderson’s top police officer, but she led the force for less than two years. The city manager placed her on leave after claims of harassment. Watson was also known for clashing with the police unions.
She too denied all accusations and filed suit against the city.
Thedrick Andres came to the Valley via Texas as Watson’s deputy chief. His leadership lasted a bit longer than his predecessor, but he too had problems with police unions. In November of 2022, a majority of officers in both labor organizations gave Andres a no-confidence vote. The following January the chief announced he’d retire at the end of February.
Next came Hollie Chadwick. The Valley native served 23 years with HPD. Chadwick joined the force in 2002, was appointed Captain in 2019, and was ultimately named Chief in 2023. Henderson’s city manager placed her on administrative leave Thursday night.
