LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – It’s a good time to hit up your local library again, or grab a card if you don’t have one yet during Library Lovers’ Month.
The Las Vegas Clark County Library District has partnered with the Raiders to make silver and black Raiders-themed library cards.
“They’ve got a new coach, they’ve got a new GM. There’s so much excitement around the team,” Ryan Simoneau with the library district said. “And you need a new library card to celebrate that excitement, right?”
You can also celebrate the month at your next DMV appointment.
“The ‘I love my library’ license plate is now available at the Nevada DMV, so you can get your custom license plate to support libraries,” Simoneau explained. “All the funds go back to helping libraries provide free events, programs and resources to the community.”
On top of Library Lovers’ Month, Simoneau says you can also celebrate Black History Month at your local branch.
“This weekend, we’re partnering with the Vegas City Opera for a free show,” Simoneau said. “Black Girl Magic is happening Friday night at the Windmill Library Theater and also some other branches this weekend. It’s a celebration of iconic black female singers throughout music history.”
You can check out all the Library Lovers’ Month events on the Library District’s website.
