LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A community is mourning the loss of a mother of four, who was hit and killed died by a suspected drunk driver.

Family and friends gathered for a vigil honoring her life.

Loved ones identified the victim as 32-year-old Jessica Fodge.

They gathered at the corner of Twain Avenue and University Center Drive where she was hit Wednesday morning.

Police say Fodge was walking on the sidewalk when a driver ran a red light, made a turn, and struck her.

She was taken to the hospital, where she later died.

Her family is urging people not to drink and drive.

“Just think about it before you get in the car, just think about it. There’s Ubers, lifts, everything you can take. They just took my cousin’s life. And she, she’s so young. Her kids are so young. So now she can’t see her kids graduate high school. She’s not on there. College. Get married. Everything that we all dreamed about.”

Police say the driver was arrested for suspected DUI and he made his first appearance in court today.
