LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Spring Valley woman says she’s living in fear after threats from a woman living in an encampment behind her home.

A video shared with FOX5 by the woman, who wanted to be anonymous out of fear of retaliation, shows a woman yelling, “Your buildings are flammable,” toward the homes.

“It’s very scary,” the neighbor says. “I have to go to work and be constantly checking my cameras. My husband has to do the same. I have two older sons. They have to be at home, making sure all the doors are locked.”

This is not the first time this neighbor says she’s felt violated by people living in the encampment. In January, she showed us a video of who she believes is the same woman, throwing rocks into her pool from the wash.

“I don’t let my son play outside anymore because I’m scared that she might throw a rock when he’s out here, or she might throw something flammable when he’s out here,” she says.

In January, Commissioner Michael Naft joined Clark County Public Works, Metro Police, and Help of Southern Nevada as they cleared the wash and listened to neighbors’ concerns.

Clark County says efforts have been underway in the area, and they are continuing to address issues of concern.

FOX5 also reached out to Metro Police about this neighbor’s concern, who provided the following statement:

”We always inform people to never confront an aggressive individual. Always find a safe, secure location and call 911 if you feel threatened or 311 if it is not an immediate emergency.”
