LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The City of Henderson announced a landscape rebate in an effort to save water.

Henderson residents could receive a $575 supplementary rebate for replacing decorative grass. It’s also on top of the Southern Nevada Water Authority’s Water Smart Landscape rebate.

The SNWA is offering $3 per square foot replaced.

“This rebate is another way you can do your part to help our community save water,” said Director of Utility Services Priscilla Howell. “We urge everyone to consider a beautiful water-smart landscape that will thrive in our desert heat. Because we can’t afford to be just good at saving water—we need to be great.”

In 2024, it says Henderson’s portion of the rebate program supported 347 projects. More than 314K square feet of turf has been removed. It’s expected to save more than 17 million gallons a year.
