LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The University of Nevada Las Vegas and 50 other universities will be investigated for alleged racial discrimination related to its DEI programs.

The Department of Education announced the investigations Friday, as part of President Donald Trump’s efforts to remove such programs from educational institutions and within government agencies.

President Trump issued a memo to universities last month, formally known as the Dear Colleague Letter, which gave schools two weeks to halt any practices that may discriminate based on race.

The department also launched an “End DEI” portal Thursday, inviting students, parents, and faculties to report discrimination based on race or sex in public schools. The DOE says it will be using submissions to identify investigation targets.
