LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Las Vegas police arrested a man for a deadly shooting in downtown Saturday night.

The suspect allegedly killed his neighbor near West Chicago Avenue and South Industrial Road. Metro tells us a call about a shooting came in just after 9 p.m.

When officers got there, they found a male in the courtyard area who had been shot. He was rushed to UMC, where he later died.

Investigators identified 47-year-old Alexander Ayres as the suspect.

Detectives say the victim left his apartment and was shot shortly after by Ayres, who was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for open murder with a deadly weapon and other felony charges.
