LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – The Henderson City Council is set to approve a settlement for a teen who was hit and killed in front of a Henderson middle school.
Back in 2022, we told you about Rex Patchett, a 13-year-old boy who was walking home from school when a driver going more than 90 mph lost control and hit him. That driver was sentenced to 6 years for reckless driving.
Patchett’s family filed a lawsuit against the City of Henderson and Clark County School District alleging a lack of warning signs and measures on the roads where Patchett was killed.
The settlement was reached with Rex’s parents, Jason and Samantha Patchett, for $225,000, according to the Henderson City Council agenda for Tuesday.
