LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Future kindergartners at Sage Collegiate will have a warm welcome awaiting them next semester.
“You are going to love school,” one student said. “Because you have a great teacher.”
All the current kindergarten students spent the day writing letters to those coming behind them. Each shared their favorite part of going to school. Some may even draw their future friends a picture.
Sage Collegiate’s executive director tells FOX5 it’s a way to ease first-day jitters.
“This way, we’ll have letters ready for them – and for their parents – to help with those tears on the first day,” said Sandra Kinne. “To help settle everyone’s fears because kindergarten can be such a great and amazing year, but those first few days can be scary to five and six-year-olds.“
Sage Collegiate is a no-cost public charter school that first opened in 2023. It’s located at Charleston and Oakey.
It’s accepting new students. For more information, visit their website.
