LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Clark County firefighters are responding to a fire near Sunset Park Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out near Sunset and Eastern Avenue around 3:40 p.m. The Clark County Fire Department and Police have responded to the scene.
Officials say it was a fire that started in a thick area of a brush. It happened in the center of the park between the pond and fields.
No structures were impacted and no injuries have been reported.
A half acre burned with another quarter acre spot fire that started 100 yards west of the original fire.
CCFD extinguished the most active flames. In total, 28 personnel responded.
Crews will remain at the scene. The east-west access road through the park is closed.
The public is encouraged to stay clear of Eastern Avenue between Sunset and Warm Springs Roads.
