LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A woman faces an attempted murder charge after a shooting on I-15 southbound, police say.
Nevada State Police said Thursday morning, troopers responded to a report of a shooting on I-15 near the southbound Lake Mead Boulevard on-ramp.
Police said a man was walking on the roadway and yelling at passing vehicles along southbound I-15. Gunshots were heard in the area, police say.
Officers arriving at the scene found the man with a gunshot wound, and transported him to the hospital with serious injuries.
Further investigation identified Yolanda McCoy as the suspect. Troopers found her in a nearby area.
The Nevada Investigation Division discovered firearms ammunition and 1.4 grams of methamphetamine on McCoy. She was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for attempted murder, battery and possession of a schedule I or II drug.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
