LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A group of animal advocates are coming together to share their voices with the community.
They hope to encourage others to echo their passion for animal rights. Decades of dedication now sitting together with a shared vision.
Spreading a message of animal advocacy through the mic.
“We see on social media, where we reach out to most of our followers at this point, that there’s some heated discussions. We wanted to go into those further and interview people who were involved in incidents that happened in the community. We felt like this would be a good avenue to do that.” Said Bryce Henderson, Paw & Order Las Vegas cohost.
Bryce henderson founded No Kill Las Vegas, Mel Shayne runs Kiss My Paws Rescue and Gina Greisen is the president of Nevada Voters for Animals.
The trio says they’re ready to tackle any and all animal rights topics.
Their first interview? One of the women who tried to help Jazzy the Frenchie who died from heat exhaustion in Las Vegas a couple weeks ago.
“Because that was such an impactful situation on the community and everyone was very upset and it was something that was so recent, that’s why we decided to bring her in because we thought it was something that needed to be discussed.” said Mel Shayne, Paw & Order co-host.
Evan: “So many people in general, they have a desire to help or be involved but everyone always says ‘I don’t know how, I don’t know where to go, I don’t know who to talk to. It seems like you all want to use this platform as a way of providing that information for people and maybe develop new voices in this advocacy space.”
“Absolutely. I’ve been doing this 20 years, I just celebrated 20 years.” Said Gina Greisen, Paw & Order co-host. “I’ve been diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. I was fighting it at the end of 2015. I was really good for eight years until it came back with a vengeance.”
“I don’t know how much longer I have left so I really need people to step up. If you care about animals, get involved. Participate.” added Greisen.
“I’m hoping that we can gather a larger group of people that consistently come to meetings, speak up, come to the protests. Understand what this is all about and support.” Said Mel Shayne, Paw & Order Podcast co-host.
Hoping that their passionate voices will support the growth of the next generation of animal advocates.
