LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – An unidentified juvenile was arrested on DUI charges in an I-15 wrong-way crash that killed a young boy Saturday.
According to Nevada State Police, a white Ford pickup was traveling south in northbound lanes on I-15 at mile marker 53 near the Las Vegas Speedway, around 11:17 p.m.
A tan Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was heading northbound, toward the wrong-way driver. Both drivers tried to avoid a crash by steering toward the inside I-15 shoulder. The Ford hit the the front of the Chevrolet.
Nevada State Police learned the front passenger of the Chevrolet was 10-year-old Brandon Martinez. He died at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, the unidentified juvenile, was arrested for under DUI charges.
The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol – Traffic Homicide Unit.
