RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The Seven Magic Mountain Art Display in Las Vegas is no longer coming to Washoe County.
Washoe County officials say the Nevada Museum of Art was unable to secure a site for the art installation within the agreed time frame.
County Commissioners had allocated $500,000 last year to move the art piece due to planned expansion at Harry Reid International Airport, but in a memo to the county, the artist reportedly decided not to proceed with the relocation.
Washoe County says the none of the money allocated was spent, and will now be redirected to fund critical renovations at the Washoe County Behavioral Facility.
