LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — Planned Parenthood is dropping its legal fight over Nevada’s parental notification law.

A decades-old rule requires doctors to notify parents if an unmarried minor wants an abortion. It was blocked for years as unconstitutional.

However, after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, state officials pushed to revive the law and they succeeded.

Planned Parenthood says the legal landscape has shifted and filed to dismiss its case.

The Nevada Right to Life, a pro-life organization, says they’re celebrating.

“We refused to give up,” said Melissa Clement, executive director. “We carried this fight alone for decades, and now parents will have a voice in decisions affecting their children’s lives.”
