LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The dog who was abandoned outside a Las Vegas animal shelter is up for foster or adoption, officials said Wednesday.
Officials from the Animal Foundation shared an update on Klondike’s status. He was abandoned outside a Nevada SPCA location in Las Vegas on July 11, a day when temperatures reached 108 degrees in the Las Vegas valley.
Animal Foundation officials said Klondike was initially anxious, nervous, and afraid, even trembling, but added that the training team at the shelter worked to gain his trust.

Photos show Klondike and one of his trainers, Cheyenne. Soon, officials said, he began to “show his true colors.”
“He warmed up to her quickly, allowing her to take him out of his kennel and work on his basic manners,” Animal Foundation officials said.
Klondike is described as a sweetheart who likes attention, affection and praise. Officials said he has come out of his shell and has transformed into a “sweet, brave boy.”

“Klondike also goes to playgroup at the shelter. He gets along with other mellow pups. He’s starting to get the hang of it. He’s loosening up and getting other dogs to chase him with a playful bow and silly spin around the yard.
Klondike is available for foster placement or adoption. More info on this very special pup is available on the Animal Foundation’s website.
